A Question of Faith
Have you ever tried to put into words the answer to the question, “What or who is God?” In every corner of the world, there’s one question that can never be definitively answered, yet stirs up equal parts passion, curiosity, self-reflection and often wild imagination: What is God? Filmmaker Peter Rodger explores this profound, age-old query in the provocative nonfictional DVD Oh My God. Just watching the trailer for the movie started me thinking… How do you answer the question? What stories would your movie tell? What picture... [Read more]
Simple Steps to Finding Peace
Today I was reminded of a poem that has hung prominently in every home I’ve ever lived in…”Desiderata”. Compassion: The Key to Happiness, says the Dalai Lama
Last week I made a special commitment to myself to take time out to be present when His Holiness The 14th Dalai Lama came to town. At the campus of NSU, this simple, humble man, preached an equally uncomplicated message. “Don’t worry…Be Happy!” I left the auditorium that day with that tune in my head and a smile on my face. (I wonder if I was the only one?) I expected this holy man to be somber, quiet and profoundly complex. And instead he was almost jovial, had a sense of humor that surprised me, and he spoke of basic human... [Read more]
