It’s July 4th and summer is officially in full swing. Images are running through my mind… of picnics and fireworks and giggling children playing in the sprinklers and sparklers that make me smile and loud booming explosions that don’t. But most of all, I’m thinking of freedom and how privileged I am.
Yes, life is good.
This week I shared a simple creative writing process with a group— some call it the ladder process. Beginning with any word, you simply write the letters of the word vertically…

M
… and then, using the first letter on each line as your starting point, write anything that comes to mind. Then tweak it a bit, if you wish, and your creative expression is complete. Voila!
