Sometimes I forget that not everyone sees the world in a way that makes it possible for them to be inspired to effortlessly create something from nothing.
Not everyone is blessed with the ability to look at an object currently being used for one purpose and instantly see how it might be used for another. Many have other gifts to share that I do not have. [Ask me to complete a Calculus equation and you'll know what I mean.]
Even among people who share these creative gifts, not everyone chooses to exercise their natural creative inspiration with any regularity. I know I spent many years, and lots extraordinary energy just trying to keep that creative spirit in check, and so have most of the women I support through my Creativity Coaching practice.
Today I know just how lucky I am to I have been blessed with the gift, and this month, I've been inspired by Leah Piken Kolidas' Art Every Day Month. As the season of gratitude continues, I'm reminded to publicly acknowledge the significance of my personal shift from chaos to calm at this time in my life, all inspired by reconnecting to my creative self.
If you've been following along, you know that beginning November 1st, I committed to creating something each and every day for 30 days straight.
Today is Day 25, and I'm happy to report that I've missed only one day.
The good news is I've produced more than 25 creative pieces, but I have to be honest and report that I did miss one day.
And, despite my best intentions, I just haven't been very good at posting all the photos or keeping my blog up to date.
So today I did a little catching up, on this extra day of rest, post-Thanksgiving so that I can share it with you.
Here's my Flickr image feed, where you'll find the Photo Set for Create Every Day 11/11.
I hope you'll take an extra minute to follow along to view the work of some of the other creative spirits — and get inspired yourself.
Though the "challenge" is almost over, there's nothing stopping you from jumping in and starting your daily creative practice today.
Add a comment below and let us all see what you've gotten started, OK? And don't worry, even doodles count! [No fine art training required :-)]
And if you need a little support, don't hesitate to ask. Reach out anytime to nanette@wisewellwomen.com.
With much gratitude,
I wish you well-
Nanette

I just went over to your flickr and that was a great collection. The bracelets are cute and the vision boards are truly inspiring. :)

Yes, Ira, I’ve had great fun making those easy, simple bracelets from “trash”. And the best part is, everyone loves them.
enJoy your day-

As strange as it sounds, some of my best inspiring thoughts come when I'm lying in bed with the lights out. The room is dim and not dark as there are steetlights outside. I cannot be so tired that I fall asleep.

Michelle, I find those moments just before sleep and just at waking to often hold some interesting thoughts that become wonderfully creative ideas. Thanks for sharing your awareness.
Wishing you well-

Hi Nanette,
Very inspiring post! How I wish I can commit my self in doing creative things every day like you. But it is so hard for me. I'm so busy and traveling a lot :( Do I still have a chance?

Good morning Connie-
Of course, you still have a chance!
Travelling is what inspired me to re-connect to my creativity years ago.
I started very small, with just a little travel journal to scribble ideas in…
enJoy!

For me I usually paint animals, horses in particular, but have ventured to other things. I have not painted for a while now because my eyes have gotten bad. (I think its age, my husband says its too much time on the computer). Sometimes I would just wake up with an idea what to paint, or maybe look through a magazine – but if you do that you do have to change the picture somewhat to make it your own. Oils are great, the smell really gets to me now, but you can do so much with oils. Paint what you love, and if you cannot think of what to paint – dont paint, its never the same if its forced. If an idea does not speak to you dont use it because you will not be happy with the result.

Good day, Kathleen-
I love that you would “just wake up with an idea what to paint”.
I know my eyes are affected by too much time on the computer, and when I rest them, I see much better!
I hope you’ll find your way to painting even when things are a little blurry :-)
Wishing you well-

hI Nanette,
Those are so cool! Specially the last thing about Faith. Well I know you can win the challenge. Just have a little faith. By that faith you can move mountains :) It's my first time here in your blog and I found it very fun and useful.
