A Vow of Independence
As we celebrate Independence Day here in the United States, I find my thoughts once again dwelling on the concepts of freedom and independence. And through a series of connections, I came to this: Debbie Ford’s powerful Vow of Independence. “When you have emotional independence, you want for nothing because you have everything.” – Debbie Ford So, as Debbie shares, today is the day to join me and millions of others in taking a vow of emotional independence. Can I think my way to financial success? Napolean Hill says YES!
I began the practice of listening to motivational teleclasses and books on tape in my car a few years ago. I’ve been listening to Napolean Hill’s “Think and Grow Rich” as I drive the past few days, and the affect it is having is nothing short of amazing! Why? Because I can!
When I pay attention, I see and hear lessons I am intended to learn. I’ve experienced some wondrous reminders of the power of my thoughts to change my world… One came in the form of a visit from two friends I don’t see very often, who, like me, have experience in the world of hospitality. The other came in the form of a few amazing blossoms expanding on a delicate orchid that my partner, Bill, gave me for my birthday back in February. Over a delightful breakfast, my girlfriends and I shared some “war” stories about our service days and... [Read more]
Wisdom Walks: Finding Peace in Advice from Nature
For Mother’s Day, my beautiful daughter gifted me a “together day” that began with a trip to Butterfly World, one of my all-time favorite places. The butterflies, the birds and the flowers are simply AWESOME. One of the things I’ve learned, is that my voice of inner wisdom speaks to me with the greatest clarity when I spend time with nature. Even the shortest of quiet moments outdoors nourishes my heart and soul and re-energizes me. This is my “wisdom walk”. Truth be told, sometimes I don’t walk at all!... [Read more]
