Finding inspiration for social media posts, email messages and other pieces of writing content can sometimes be challenging, particularly when you’ve committed to a posting schedule.
Cleaning up my office a few months ago, I decided to gather up all the scraps of paper and scribbled inspirations I collect and put them in a basket. My intention is to pull one out randomly on occasion to fuel my writing practice so that it is easier, lighter and more fun!
Using quotes or images is a time-testing method of jump-starting your journaling practice, too!
One day, I pulled this quote:
“Inspiration does not favor those that sit still… it dances with the daring.”
I was reminded that I picked up this little postcard at Oprah’s The Life You Want Weekend in Miami. On the back, the postcard also reminded me that this message was a marketing/advertising slogan for the “BOLD NEW” Toyota Camry.
That made me giggle.
I drove a white Toyota Camry for a while and I would never describe my car as bold or daring.
Maybe that’s because I’ve owned a red Corvette in my life and a sporty VW convertible, too.
Those cars, I loved! My Camry… not so much.
Yes, I digress.
Back to writing…
So, as I composed my weekly FB post, I allowed my thoughts to wander and I began to allow my reflections to expand… and the next thing I knew, I was here, on a blank blog page, continuing to write.
Inspiration. Reflection. Action.
That’s how my process works when I allow it to. When I give myself the time and space and quiet to follow that tiny snippet of inspiration wherever it may lead, then interesting, fun and enlightening things happen.
Every time.
And writing becomes fun and easy, instead of drudgery.
Today, maybe, just maybe, I can imagine myself “dancing with the daring” driving my white Camry down the beachside road, with the windows open, and my favorite driving music blaring! [If you have some favorites, please share in the comments, below.]
Maybe, just maybe, I can allow myself to imagine anything…
instead of hanging on to what was or projecting what could be sometime in the distant future.
Maybe, just maybe, I’ll get up and dance! Oh, yeah! [Have you watched any cool flash mobs on YouTube lately?]
See what happens when you allow your thoughts to wander?
So, let go of what could be or should be and allow what is to be magical!
This is the key to conscious creation and the evolution of a life filled with more joy.
Simple, silly, and playful…
Imagining anything is possible.
Beginning in this present moment, my world expands beyond anything I’ve known!
What if I fly?
Bold and daring.
What if I dance?
I hope we all dance!
Today and everyday, I hope we dance with the daring!
