The Wise Well Women community continues to expand based on the philosophy of connection, collaboration, and cooperation among women.

So, I am thrilled to connect with Heather Smith of nanny.net and I’m honored to share her quick tips on boosting self-confidence that she’s gathered here just for Wise Well Women like you.

This is a topic vital to our success as entrepreneurial women and often overlooked. We are all worthy of growing successful businesses and living exceptional lives!

5 Ways to Boost Your Self-Confidence

Nothing is more rewarding than knowing you are worth it, but sometimes we allow life to get in the way of our self-confidence and we get down. Here are 5 ways to get your self-confidence back and strut your stuff as you mean it again:

Eating right: Have you ever heard of that slogan, ‘you are what you eat’? Well, there is a reason why you hear that from time to time. There have been many studies showing that fatty and unhealthy foods can not only cause poor health and weight gain but can really take a toll on your emotions. Do your best to avoid those drive-thru windows and eat something fresh and healthy. This doesn’t mean you have to avoid sweets but just keep in mind the effect they can have on your emotions.

Exercise: Not only is exercising is a great way to relieve stress and burn those calories but it is a natural mood enhancer because of those endorphins that are released. Go for a run or hit a fun dance class and monitor your attitude after you complete the exercise. There will be a huge difference in your self-confidence.

Sleep: It is recommended that you get a good night’s rest to feel your best. If you are extremely tired and groggy in the mornings that means you didn’t get enough sleep. Lack of sleep can bring you down and tend to play a large part in low confidence. So tonight, be sure to head to bed early and wake up happier!

Remove negativity: Something we have a hard time recognizing in our life, are those people who are bad influences. In order to be happy with yourself, it is best to surround yourself with positive people. Take a long look at those in your daily life and decide who is helping and hurting you. As hard as it may be it is time to get selfish and do something that is good for you and that is removing the negativity in your life.

Do something nice for yourself: There is something that everyone does that makes her feel pretty or extra special. It may be heading to the salon and getting a good cut and color or buying a new skirt that you feel amazing in. Do something nice for yourself. It is okay to splurge and do something that makes you smile and feel confident. You don’t need things to make you pretty but if it helps you feel better, then, by all means, go get that pedicure.

Taking care of yourself in your day to day life is the best way to build that self-confidence. Remembering that you are worth it is really important. Self-confidence has a lot do with how we treat ourselves, so treat yourself right because you deserve it!

  1. Thanks for posting this – these 5 things are so basic and yet so easily forgotten. And as Heather is from nanny.net I’m sure she knows the importance of setting a good example for the children in our world. It can be difficult, especially for us women, to set boundaries and put our own time to exercise or have a soak in the tub ahead of the needs of others. Thanks for the reminder. Sarah.

    1. I so appreciate your contribution to the discussion here, Sarah. Yes, I agree, these 5 things are basic AND so easily forgotten. I’m glad this article spoke to you.
      Wishing you well–
