The Wise Well Woman's Way

How Do YOU Inspire Possibilities?

I’m often asked, “What is a Possibility Partner?”

And to that, I reply: “Someone who encourages you to see the world with no limits, and to reach beyond where you’ve been before with courage.”

Yesterday I was inspired by the students, teachers, administrators, volunteers and guests at The Milagro Center. A teacher performed this poignant poem by Taylor Mali, What Teachers Make. She received a well deserved standing ovation from the crowd.

And then, looking for quotes on possibilities I found this…

Each second we live is a new and unique moment of the universe, a moment that will never be again. And what do we teach our children? We teach them that two and two make four, and that Paris is the capital of France. When will we also teach them what they are? We should say to each of them: Do you know what you are? You are a marvel. You are unique. In all the years that have passed, there has never been another child like you. Your legs, your arms, your clever fingers, the way you move. You may become a Shakespeare, a Michelangelo, a Beethoven. You have the capacity for anything. Yes, you are a marvel. And when you grow up, can you then harm another who is, like you, a marvel? You must work, we must all work, to make the world worthy of its children.

Pablo Casals (1876-1973, cellist)

So, I ask you… what will you do today to inspire a sense of wonder and possibility in someone who’s a life you touch?

  1. You made me ponder a lot of things after reading this post. It seems that I love a lot to do to be able to inspire possibilities.

    1. Yes, Tania, I believe self awareness is the key to living to the fullest, and “pondering a lot of things” is a key part of the journey. First awareness, then understanding, and then action. Wishing you well- Nanette

  2. Nice. A pretty interesting post that really kept me thinking of good ways in order to inspire others. Will be thinking deep for it. Thanks!

  3. I love reading this post… Many interesting ideas about inspiring responsibilities learned… Thank you for sharing.

  4. I guess this is one of the toughest, yet greatest thing a man can do. It takes something to be successful, but to inspire others to strive to better their lives is another.

    1. Vonetta- Thanks for sharing your thoughts. Yes, living in alignment with our true self is a challenge. Yet, from that place we create the inspiration for ourselves and others.

  5. It is only sad to know that only a few people are able to to inspire a sense of wonder and possibility in someone else’s life. If this world is full of such persons, this world will be a better place to live in.

    1. As I read your comment, here, Carina, the first thought that came to mind was “Be the Change”. That is what we can do. Then, as our lights shine brighter, others will follow. Sending you many blessings- Nanette

  6. Your goal is to make everything run more smoothly and make each process better. You must have foresight and vision to accomplish this. Some changes will cause your work to become easier and some will run into problems along the way before the changes can be effective.

  7. This positive reinforcement helps kids identify and trust their creative leanings. If you’ve ever watched a toddler making mud pies in a sandbox or observed your preschooler building blanket forts, you know that kids are naturally curious, imaginative and creative.

  8. A great manager or leader inspires leadership skills in others and encourages employees to take ownership, grow and make decisions on their own.

  9. Kids and adults often dismiss themselves by saying, “I’m not creative.” We’re all creative, and if we don’t know that, it’s because no one ever pointed it out.

  10. What a thought provoking post. Made me wonder how I can be of help to those in need and how to be a good influence and inspire other people. Thanks for sharing a wonderful post. I love the quotes on possibilities you found.

  11. Hello
    I really loved the post
@Nanette Saylor : I wanted to understand what does ‘Inspire possibilities’ means, 🙂
inspire the future ? or open more doors for your future…
Can you plesae explain that to me, I’ll be very grateful 🙂
Thank you so much for the post 🙂

    1. I’m so glad you found your way to this post, Soufiane. When I use language about “possibilities” I am always speaking about expanding your vision of what could be — both in this moment and in your future. To “inspire” for me, means to affect in a positive way, to encourage you to think and feel in ways that you haven’t considered before. Most importantly, this message is intended to push you to stretch beyond your comfort zone, and to support you to see that every day you have the opportunity to not only be inspired, but to inspire others as well simply by being the unique and gentle spirit that you are.

I hope this is helpful. If you’re interested in learning more about how one-on-one or group coaching supports “inspiring possibilities” please contact me at nanette@wisewellwomen.com and we can explore that, OK?

      Wishing you well–
      Nanette
