On this Memorial Day
Today I honor those who have served and sacrificed.
I remember their commitment and their conviction.
I cherish the protections I am living
made possible by their selfless willingness to fight.
And I am grateful for the freedom to openly pray to the God of my choosing
that one day we will experience the joy of peace in the world.
I have had the unique experience of maintaining the records for our high school alumni association for the past 20 years. During all that time, I have recorded the passing of many of our old friends, including classmates and former staff, and add 5 or 6 more every single month. We maintain the memorials on our alumni website.
A very touching post. I guess our heroes and current servicemen are really proud.
We are so fortunate, aren’t we, Clarice, to have willing men and women to serve and sacrifice for our freedoms.
Wishing you well– Nanette
