Do you have a dream for your life or your business or your art?
Yes, of course, you do!
Can you close your eyes and imagine yourself living that dream as if it were happening at this moment?
Maybe…
Let me ask you, “How important is it to you to turn your dream into your reality?”
Honestly. How important is it?
Is it important enough to invest three hours of your time, energy and resources to design a life you love? Are you willing to make that investment to shape your vision into a picture that pulls you forward almost as if by magic?
What if you could firmly anchor your belief in possibilities and, at the same time, channel absolute, unwavering commitment to the outcomes you desire? Would that result be worth it?
I think it is. And I hope you will learn that it is, too.
Vision Boards (also known as Dream Boards and Treasure Maps) hold the key to making your dreams come true. Really. No B.S. Vision Boards hold the key to making your dreams come true.
But don’t just take my word for it.
Vision Boards are a powerful tool used by many of our most successful mentors and teachers, like Oprah and Jack Canfield. You’ve seen them in books and movies like “The Secret”. Even Fortune 500 businesses use them!
No matter who you are, where you are in life, or what it is you are dreaming of accomplishing or becoming, creating a Vision Board can work for you.
Here are some examples of how you might use your Vision Board:
- Focusing on specific goals for yourself or your team, i.e. fitness, income generation, sales quotas, completing your new bestseller
- Deepening your connection to specific people, places, and things
- Nurturing your physical self, your body and your wellness
- Illustrating specific types of formal plans, like SMART Goals, in a powerful visual format
- Zeroing in on your personal or organizational mission and using that clarity to align your actions with your dreams
Everyone who has created a Vision Board will tell you that when they look at their Vision Board they feel really good, too! In it’s simplest form, that’s a kind of instant gratification. Feeling good about something makes it much more likely you are going to take the action steps you say you want to take.
When you place your Vision Board in a prominent spot in your home or office and look at it frequently, you are reminded of your dream and how much it means to you. You’re actually doing a little mini visualization technique every time you look at your Vision Board without even working at it. This pictorial reminder is a great way to keep your intentions top of mind. You begin to feel the success of your accomplishments even before they happen. And this makes it so much easier to keep moving forward, especially on days when you are feeling stuck or stalled and it’s really tough to take those action steps.
Creating a Vision Board has other benefits, too. As you select images that invoke the feelings you want to have in your life and business you gain clarity around the particular idea, project or goal. Things that may have been fuzzy in your mind, or undefined for your team, now become more focused and feel more aligned with your grandest intentions.
And, when you engage with others in the practice you have a chance to share your vision as well. This brings more clarity, too. And more excitement!
Oprah says “Create the highest, grandest vision possible for your life because you become what you believe.” And she’s absolutely right!
